Serial Entrepreneur & Professor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Acting CTO and advisory board member Dr. Luke Weinstein oversees development of C2C’s technology platform. In addition to his role at C2C, Dr. Weinstein is a professor at the United States Coast Guard Academy, where he teaches entrepreneurial studies. His previous teaching roles include extensive experience as a professor of computer operating systems, technology entrepreneurship, innovation, B2B sales and marketing, CRM, and international business. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Weinstein has worked in both Asia and the United States in a number of entrepreneurial enterprises, including being a co-founder of three start-up technology firms. His last company, PTI, was a Connecticut-based software systems company that developed smart card-based financial applications. PTI was sold to Fujitsu, for whom Dr. Weinstein worked in an executive position for 3 more years.
From January 2007 through August 2010, Dr. Weinstein served as the Director and Clinical Professor of the Innovation Accelerator (IA) – a cornerstone of the University of Connecticut’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CCEI). As the Director of the program, he supervised and mentored interdisciplinary project teams comprised of graduate students that provided deep-dive consulting to 40+ high-tech start-up ventures.
Dr. Weinstein has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Carleton University, an MBA from the Wharton School, a Master of Science in Engineering/Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.
